contour ab systemThe Contour Abdominal Belt is one of the more popular muscle stimulating ab belts available today. Marketed by the Minnesota based company, Contour Technology, LLC, this belt is offered as an effective apparatus that truly tones and slims the abdomen. According to their official website, by wearing this belt, the need of a daily workout routine can be eliminated.

Pros

One positive aspect of the Contour Ab Belt is its electric muscle stimulation (EMS) technology. Although this technology has been used for decades for rehabilitative procedures, it has now been approved by the FDA for using in the Contour Ab Belt as well as various other Ab belts. Additionally, the Contour Ab Belt is designed to not only trim and shape the abdominal muscles, but can also be used on other areas of the body. When purchasing this belt, it includes a diet plan, exercise guide and a two-year warranty.

Cons

If planning to use the Contour Ab Belt while at work or out in public, because of its bulky size and large remote, it may be difficult to wear discreetly. This belt has also not been studied nor backed by any clinical trials outside of the marketing firm. Another disadvantage of the Contour Ab Belt is that it operates on four AAA batteries, whereas some ab belts do not require these. Contour Technology’s customer satisfaction guarantee only consist of a one month period, which may or may not be sufficient time to decide if this is the best ab belt for you. One final disadvantage for those who live outside of the United States is that shipping is not available and customers who live outside of the continental United States will be required to pay extra shipping charges.

Cost

The cost of the Contour Ab Belt is priced under $200 with free shipping and handling inside the United States. This is an average price in comparison to other ab belts. Customers who reside outside the continental U.S. will be charged about $30 for shipping and handling. Shipping and delivery takes about 2 to 3 weeks.

Overall Use

Choosing the Contour Abdominal Belt may be a good choice for individuals who do not have time for workouts, but want to trim and tone their abs. Because of its EMS technology, simply by wearing it during normal activities, it provides 150 contractions per session. However, because of its bulkiness, those who plan to use it outside of the home may prefer a different ab belt that can be worn more discreetly under clothing. For consumers who would prefer a longer customer satisfaction guarantee period than 30 days, there are other devices that do come with longer trial periods. This can allow consumers to thoroughly test the device before making a final decision. Although the Contour Ab Belt is not backed by clinical trials, unlike others that can provide strong evidence of their effectiveness, this EMS belt could be an option for individuals who want to take advantage of this new and FDA approved technology.

Can you make payments on the contour abs belt. Because I loved having one. Consider it as a Christmas gift.

Hi Judith, Thanks for commenting. There appears to be two ways to purchase the Contour belt. On their website http://www.thecontour.tv you can take advantage of their Free Trial offer (which is you pay S&H of $14.95 then aren’t charged anything for the first 30 days). After the free trial period is over you’ll be charged four monthly payments of $49.95 to your credit card. So in a way that is payment installments for the belt. However, if you visit their other site http://www.thecontour.com you’ll see there doesn’t appear to be a payments method available, but the belt is less expensive ($179.80 in stead of 4 x $49.95 + shipping). Hope that helps with you ab belt decision.
