Are AB Belts Effective For Slimming?

There are some people who feel that electronic ab belts can work for helping you slim down, and to an extent I guess they’re right. However there’s a difference between slimming down because you’re firming and toning your abdominal muscles versus actually burning off fat and losing weight.

Ab belts are designed and evaluated based on their ability to stimulate your ab muscles multiple times during a session of wearing it. This contraction and relaxing of your abdominals is similar to doing crunches on the ground. While this action firms and tones your muscles effectively it doesn’t do much to burn off fat or help you lose weight.

So if you’re struggling to get rid of a bit of belly fat that is covering over those abdominal muscles on your stomach you’ll want to explore other options besides an abdominal belt.

The most effective method is to used tried and true methods such as drinking lots of water each day (6-8 glasses to be exact), getting in a healthy cardiovascular workout such as a brisk walk or jog, and monitoring your caloric intake to ensure you’re not going over what your body needs to do it’s daily functions.

While these basic concepts won’t get rid of belly fat over night they will do the trick with consistency.

Of course all the while you’re working to get rid of that last bit of belly fat you can still be using an ab belt to firm and tone your abdominals. This way once you shed through those last couple pounds of belly fat you’ll be on your way to getting those sexy six pack abs you desire.
